"Always strive for the desires of your heart, you are worthy of your dreams..... never settle." S. Hall |
I studied at Singers Forum Vocal
Academy in New York, NY. Touching others with my voice has taught me that with
hard work, you can do anything if you believe in yourself. No matter where you
came from, you help decide where you will go. I have been instructed by STEPHANIE
WEEMS and PHILLIP A. CAMPANELLA, two of New York's most respected vocalist and educators. |
|
Ms. Weems was a soloist with Ray Evans Harrell's MAGIC CIRCLE OPERA REPERTORY ENSEMBLE in their 1994 world premiere of Kurt Vonnegut and Edgar David Grana's STONES, TIME, AND ELEMENTS. Having performed lead roles in over 20 major musicals, Ms. Weems brings a creative and innovative foundation in the art of musical theatre singing and performance to her teaching. Ms. Weems is also a highly respected arts management specialist whose unique background in corporate and arts management as well as the performing arts, brings a refreshingly effective focus to the development challenges of art programs. |

Executive Director of the Singer's Forum, Mr. Campanella has directed and produced dozens of performances including the recent birthday tribute to Andy Anselmo starring Liza Minnelli, Mandy Patinkin, Julie Harris and Joanne Woodward. From 1970 to 1992 he served as Musical Director and Composer-in-Residence for New York's Roundabout Theatre, supervising music for over 100 productions with artists including Jane Alexander, Anthony Hopkins, Charles Grodin, Jim Dale, Esther Rolle and Uta Hagen. Among these many productions were a record-breaking revival of Harold Rome's PINS AND NEEDLES, later broadcast as a CBS special, and Lindsay Anderson's revival of LOOK BACK IN ANGER, with Malcolm MacDowell, subsequently produced as a Showtime special. Mr. Campanella's music and lyrics for JAMES JOYCE'S DUBLIN have been published by Samuel French. He has appeared in concert with many celebrities, including Maxene Andrews of the legendary Andrews Sisters, and conducted Geraldine Fitzgerald's STREETSONGS throughout the country, with a memorable performance at the White House. |

I was the first guest of The Sports Wire radio show that was broadcast live just before coverage of the NASCAR race. The show was hosted by Rob Steele at the WROV station house located in Roanoke VA. I was interviewed about my music, the first time I was ever on stage, why I liked to perform, where I wanted to go with music as a career, and talked about how I began singing. This was an interactive show, allowing listeners to call in and ask questions if they so desired. It was a wonderful experience, and I ended the show by singing live on the air. I consider this to be one of the most memorable events in my early stages of being a vocalist. It helped me to gain confidence and begin to take my voice seriously. |

| In February 1999, I was invited to Nashville as a "backstage" guest of the Grand Ole Opry. I was introduced to accomplished musicians and actually was able to stand on the same stage were some of the greatest Country Music performers once stood themselves. I visited over 10 cities during my stay in TN, learning each step of the way. I am thankful to George Thacker who provided me with opportunity to see what all is involved in "LIVE" performances. George made me become more "focused" in order to further my singing career. God bless you George. |

| Below are pictures of Sound on Sound Recording Studio, in NYC. I am grateful to them for allowing me an internship in 1998. I was able to learn more about the music industry "behind" the glamour. Actually setting up sessions, meeting with producers, and being in the control room allowed me to broaden my arena on a non-vocal approach. |
